Why Volunteer?
Volunteering
is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested
in getting involved with the only Marathon in Charlotte! An
event of this magnitude needs more than just the runners
to be a success. It requires countless hours
behind the scenes, months of meetings and phone calls,
and constant revisions to work plans and spreadsheets
in an effort to make race day as safe as possible.
However, none of that can
take place without an army of willing, organized
volunteers!
The
Thunder Road Marathon Half Marathon
and Presbyterian Hospital 5K will
take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Volunteer
positions are available at the Start Line, along
the Course and at the Finish Line for that Saturday
morning. The Thunder Road
Marathon Health & Wellness Expo presented by
Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital will be held
on Friday November 11th and Satrday, December 12th
at the Charlotte Convention Center. Volunteer
positions are available at the Expo on both Friday
and Saturday, as volunteers will assist with Registration,
Packet-Pick Up and the Information Kiosk. As
a volunteer for the 2011 Thunder Road Marathon, you
will receive one commemorative event T-Shirt (T-Shirt
sizes are not guaranteed).
